The Scales Say.....

You read it right I went to Fat Club... I mean Slimming World tonight and for some reason I had expected to have gained weight after last weeks 1/2 pound loss.. But no I lost 6 pound yes i lost 6 pound.  



This means tonight i walked out with my 2 Stone award and my Club 10 award I couldn't believe it but the awards didn't stop there i also received my Bronze and Silver Body Magic for all the walking i do.  I managed this week to hit 34.7 miles this week not the bigest week but it's in the top 2.

I'm still smiling sitting here typing this blog at my achievement as i cant believe how easy it has been to loose weight on Slimming World.  If anyone is thinking of joining please do as going Extra Easy and walking really does work and I never feel hungry, never feel like i'm missing out on anything.  

I think tonight i may have to break my no drinking since 7/01/2011 with a 1/2 bottle of red as a little celebration.

Sunday Munch

Bit of a shame that Laura couldn't come for food today but her nasty evil cold/girl flu has for her too poorly to come out.

Well you didn't miss much Sunday dinner wasn't that nice today there was only Roast Pork, New potato's, Broccoli and Carrots. You would have liked it anyway... Ok I'm lying it was bloody loverly. Had a little splash of gravy but I resisted Yorkshire puds and crackling.

Just topped it off with a bit fruit salad again supper yummy lots of melon, grapes, kiwi, pineapple, strawberries and raspberries.

Only a few SYNS in the gravy other than that all good.

Ouch but worth it... Nom Nom Nom

Finally recovered from today's walk done it before but today it hurt.  Might have had something to do with all the shopping i carried home 4kg frozen stuff and about 4kg of fresh.  the last 2 miles felt like my arms where falling off and my calf felt like it was on fire.

I managed to get everything i needed for dinner tonight bought Tuna and Salmon to give Laura a choice.  Kinda pleased she went for Tuna as it was so yummy. I bought frozen steaks that can be cooked from frozen but next time i think I'll defrost first and cook it on George i think it will taste better.

Along with the Tuna came my Brown Savoury rice i use
  • 1 x Large Red Pepper (finely chopped)
  • 1 Cup of Frozen Peas
  • 1 Cup of Frozen Sweetcorn
  • 1 Medium Red Onion (finely chopped)
  • 150g Brown easy cook rice
Unbelievably simple chop the things that need chopping while cooking rice, peas and corn when all cooked and chopped mix them all together. TA DA all ready yes i leave to onion and the pepper raw and i love it crunchy.


Well you can see from the picture how it turned out.  Got enough rice left for 3 days lunch and I've got some cooked prawns and chicken to go with it.

The weekend arrives!

So here we are my first day off since the last weigh in.  I know i said in group i was going to try and walk 60+ miles this week but if i'm honest i'm not sure my body can achieve that already got pain in left calf.

Saying that i'm going to give it a bloody good go ao far this week i have managed 19.26 miles and today i need to go to ASDA to get food for tea so i think there in itself is about a 10 mile round trip possibly 20 if i also head to town for my Saturday Starbucks.

Tea tonight Laura has decided she wants Fish(possibly Salmon) & Savoury Rice.  The fish i'm thinking to cook with a little bit of Sweet chilli sauce & ginger.  Both have been added to the shopping list unless of course someone out there has a Great Slimming World friendly Sweet Chilli Sauce recipe.  If you do please please please let me know in the next hour so i can buy ingredients for that instead of buying a bottle on SYNfull sauce.

Anyways thats enough of the typing got lots to do today after the walk, I'm going to rewrite my website in HTML5 & CSS3 and through in some nice effects into the page.  oh and i got to tidy the bomb site known as the back bedroom.

23/03/2011 Food diary





Stomp stomp stomp

Well after my poor effort of loosing weight on Tuesday I came to the conclusion I haven't been eating enough and when eating it hasn't the right type of food.

So Wednesday morning I headed to morrisons to pick up some fruit and kept stomping all the way to work and kept stomping some more on breaks. Food wise at work I too some smoked haddock with my own savoury rice well savoury in a loose word I through in peppers and peas, left enough for Thursday too.

Laura made an amazing Chili for me getting home last night and was that amazing looking forward to bringing some to work tomorrow.... If it lasts that long...

Walking wise I've managed to stomp around 16 miles so far. Aiming for minimum of 40 for Tuesday.

Crappy Walk

A bit of a crappy walk today.  still managed the same distance but took longer than normal.  Only managed to to it in 1hr 19s.



Not sure why it too so long as but i do know every step felt like every joint in my body was on fire.  Aching from head to toe.  Still the usual sit in Starbucks with a filter coffee even better when it only costs £1 instead of £1.50

Met Laura for lunch bought her a huge pork sandwich her choice as she needed comfort food and i'm always happy to be there.  My lunch has consisted of 1lb green seedless grapes.  Dinner tonight.... hmmm.... i'm thinking left over Pork that was cooked Saturday night ready for sunday dinner with salad and potatoes a little hot/cold combo meal.

Sunday Lunch

No pictures of the Sunday lunch this week... Didn't want to make you all jealous of the nom tastic subway salad :P

Before you all start screaming that Subway is bad I'll just confirm that the was NO dressing at all on the salad. The meat was Beef, Ham & Turkey. Salad was lettuce, tomato, cucumber, olives, pickle and jalapeños.

Got a little hot the when I picked up 3 jalapeños at the same time but I survived.

Sorry the is no pics but I munched it down very very fast as I was hungry.

Sunday Morning

What a surprise this morning, Laura got up shortly after me this morning and offered to make me breakfast.

Off she went like a whirling dervish into the kitchen throwing chopping boards on to the floor, fighting with the poach pods.

All the noise aside in the living room she walked still looking half asleep and presented me with a breakfast that was all slimming world free (bun as healthy extra)




As you can see the poach pod won that fight with the egg. However on Laura's breakfast you will see the sleepiness started to wear off and she pummelled the poach pods into touch.




All in all a beautiful breakfast that has set me up for the day at work.

Fishy Fishy fishy

So a few weeks ago I bought two beautifull looking Rainbow Trout from Tesco.



I have never handeled a raw fish with its head other than the live ones i used to keep in a fish tank.  I decided yesterday that they were going to exit the frozen tomb and i would cook them.  The first challenge was to try to fillet them I say try as i dont think i'll ever become a fishmonger at least not with the blunt knives i've got. However, i hacked and sliced and chopped and washed.  This is how they now look





Still not entirly sure how or what to do with them but i'm thinking grilled for a few minutes and serve with spuds (boiled/mased) and vegetables.

Here we go...

I probably shouldn't be doing this as my head feel like it has a bug on it like in star trek. A bit concerned now as just remembered the spider I killed yesterday that was on my neck.

So here I am again in the hall watching everyone set up normally I help but as I said before me head hurts. Come to think of it so does My arms eyes chest belly legs and other bits I can't mention here.

Weighed myself on my scales this morning and I think if my calculations are correct I lost even more weight. How much I here you all scream.... You'll find out in a bit.

My evil body gave up on me about 9:30 when I had to get the flock put of dodge as I felt that awful feeling in my mouth the one you get just before you get to see all the money you wasted on coffee and diet coke. Don't wanna give you all the graphic details as it wasn't pretty. Typing it makes me feel just the same again *wonders shall I go spew before scales*

So food wise been really food this week well apart from the odd price of fat that I left on the ham I know naughty but as a mini cheat it felt amazing.

But back to now no one hear hardly so hopefully in and out very quick.

BRB gonna see if I'm still fat!

And the result is Tom has lost 6.5lbs so I now weigh 17st 4.5lbs




So another certificate tonight 1.5 stone has left my body. I reckon a few more weeks and I'll have to buy smaller jeans again... That or buy a belt that pulls silly tight.

Now to listen all the blah blah blah about who lost what.

Nice walk

After I finally pulled myself together this morning. No not alcohol related before you laugh, was a mixture of still being tired both physically and mentally. Have I mention before that I detest the 2-10 I worked last week.

Anyway back to this morning managed to make World of Warcraft on the mac die today all I done was tab between wow and iTunes and it just died. Go bored playing so logged off and headed put the door for a walk. I was going to take it easy and not try to step it out but I hit play on Stadium Arcadium and I was off. Followed my usual route to town so 3.57 miles. Managed to had a giggle on the way at the man fishing in the bottom part of silksworth lake having a fight with a swan. Afraid I couldn't grab my camera quick enough to record it. Other than that a very uneventful walk to town.



Currently sitting enjoying a black coffee in Starbucks I was distracted by the security guard blatantly perving at the women outside Pandora well they are wearing next to nothing. No not taking their pics either would be rude.

When coffee I done I need to think food for tea. Having turkey dinner tomorrow so not wanting poultry so rio Kim of finding some nice steaks, potatoes (not sure method of cooking yet) and plenty if veg unless people have a better idea that is?

Other question is to walk home or get the bus. Suppose that will be determine on how much shopping I get.

Work all week

Yes no weigh in this week as I've been working 2-10 all week. It's a nasty shift as I don't eat properly.

I still have my banana breakfast without alpro as I just keep forgetting to buy some . Lunch happens any where from 1100-1300 been eating food I would normally have for dinner, so had some steak salads and spaghetti bolognese. The problem has been while at work as canteen shuts at 1730 I had to resort to fruit a few days but my belly has been thinking my through has been cut.

Other than not eating properly works been ok well it was until today came. Really not looking forward to Monday but that's on the back burner while I enjoy my weekend. Saturday will be mostly walking and cleaning the flat followed cooking and washing. Sunday on the other had is off to mammies for a feed with Laura and my 3 monsters. If your all good I may even let my photo be taken and post a comparison so you can see how I'm doing. But for that you have to be really good.

Well back to work now I suppose for the last hour of my shift...

It's been how long...

Wow doesn't time fly when your having fun.  It's been four days since I last posted a Blog entry, so whats been going on?

Well i've been off work all week so essentially it's been an amazing week, but it gets better than just being off work.  So after the long walk and weigh in on Tuesday where i lost another 8lb (I just like to see it again and again) i decided that i needed a well earned "Cheat Wednesday".

Feels bad writing that but its what it was i decided that when i started loosing the weight that for every 1st lost i would have a "cheat day".  The cheat of choice on Wednesday was to go to Durham and splurge in "La Tasca" and enjoy Tapas To Share that is 2 dine for £12. So what we ate.

  5. MELÓN GALIA Y JAMÓN SERRANO
I also partook in a single(ish) glass on Sangria oh and desert was courtesy of SEVILLE ORANGE & CHOCOLATE BROWNIE CHEESECAKE.  While in Durham we also bought some amazing Tiger Prawns and a Squid yes a whole squid those however are another days story.  For tea on Wednesday was another bit of a cheat as we had Morocan Cod with roasted mini new potatoes and carrots and peas.  The potatoes where done using the standard Slimming world technique of FRY LIGHT but to make it a little different we added a half tablespoon of paprika and some crushed garlic for a little oomph! 

Back to plan for the rest of the week Thursday was Ham salad for lunch and the Squid and Prawns for tea. The prawns had been left overnight in teriyaki sauce to soak in all the flavour.  The sauce was added back to the pan heated till simmering then the prawns added to the pan to cook them.  The Squid on the other hand was a complete balls up!  yes i used a naughty word but i followed the fishmongers advice of rinse the Squid then dry out using Rock salt as the drier the squid is the better it cooks, laura made up a lime juice/oil/chilli style thing that poured over the squid.  The balls up came with the rock salt... the squid seemed to absorb all the salt and when cooked it just kept all the salt to itself.  Needs to say the it was bloody awful far far to salty.  next time NO SALT alt all and dry on kitchen paper.

Friday lunch was a selection of Hams and Tomatoes. friday tea was a chicken salad (all skin removed on mine) very boring food day as I was to excited setting up the new toy 


Yes thats a 27" iMac with the Intel Core I5 processor.  It is utterly amazing for playing WoW on i feel like i am the big cow on the screen.

Saturday was another salad this time with was with beef before heading to the cinema to watch Matt Damon latest film The Adjustment Bureau, and i must say it was a great film.  I was good and refraind from all the nommy popcorn and settled for a sandwich some mango. For tea we had yummy Gammon with poached eggs, seems Laura needs to perfect her timings as she forgot to cook the potatoes and peas, oh well the gammon and eggs were perfect by themselves.

Well thats it for my week off.  Tomorrow will be Sunday lunch ala Sue well at least the chicken will be ala Sue as my mam will be out of the building for dinner so we'll be eating a whole chicken and all her food, smashing all her ornaments and terrorising Jessie =P

The weight is in...and still coming off..

No not telling you yet you gotta read some more first.

The walk down tonight was extra special no not in a ASDA way but in nice to have Laura walking with me way. Laura has come along tonight not to join bit as it's an open house. Stupid Tom did forget that he was supposed to bring some food down with him for the party... Oh dear what a pity never mind.

Well here we go again in the hall waiting to see how fat I am today...

And the scales say 17st 11lb so over the last two weeks that's another 1/2 stone. In slimming world since 25/01/2011 I've lost 1st 2lb damn am I happy









Back to class

So today is my first weigh in since I lost my 1/2 stone. A little concerned as I had a day spewing and the hard to think about cheat day so yeah a little worried about tonight.

Not been doing much walking in the last week either bloody work always gets in the way. When I have been out walking it's been a bleeding fast hard walk like today's 3.6 miles in 52 mins. I love these hard fast walks as I find myself getting lost in the beat and tempo of some music today's artist of choice was The Red Hot Chili Peppers - Stadium Arcadium album.



I could tell it was going to be a fast walk when the audio coach on the endomondo software announced 1mile and the second track had only just finished.

I know since the cheat day I have been really good with food and some days I haven't even had a single SYN. There is a bad side to this no SYNS as I've also been monitoring my calorie intake on My Fitness Pal website and on too many days with the walking I'm doing it complains that I'm not consuming enough calories



Guess I'll find out tonight at slimming world. Laura will also be joining me tonight as a visitor to the group a part of the current incentive. If anyone else would like to come with me please let me know and I'll let you know where you need to be.
